02 Fol(kontrol)

Where brutal nature meets fairytale, where the boundaries between reality and myth are blurred, natural and supernatural mingle and merge, and the mysteries of life and death are woven into the land itself. “Folkontrol” takes you on a photographic journey through the remote Westfjords of Iceland with one roll of analog film - providing a peak into the traditions and beleifs of Icelandic Folklore. This four-part project aims to reflect on our collective human yearning to make sense of the natural world, while reminding the viewer of the paradoxical relationship between nature and our own sense of control.
